The study of couples and partnerships has long since grown into one of the largest areas of psychology. This paper is another contribution in that study and refers to the characteristics of couples in Croatia. Over the past two decades, there have been many changes in the functioning of partnerships, marriage, and family in Croatia. The system of social values has changed, which has also influenced family values. The traditional thinking system and habits are difficult to change, which is why people, partners, and experts show different difficulties in adapting to new circumstances as well as the need to learn new skills that will enable them managing in the current difficult conditions. Satisfactory intimate relationships positively affect the physical and mental health of person while marriages and parenting problems are some of the main reasons for seeking psychological assistance. We wanted to examine whether there is a difference in the characteristics of couples and partner relationships in the categories of their assessment of harmony in marriage.
