Civil Registration is vital in every country because of the demographic and economic importance and also the benefits that accrues to a child when registered. Civil registration in Nigeria, [An overview] gives an insight and a thorough historical background on how civil registration started in Nigeria and how it steadily progressed. It also gave an in-depth knowledge on the administrative system of civil registration in Nigeria - the hierarchy, duties and responsibilities of all the personnel involved. It further examined the inception and the gradual expansion of civil registration in Nigeria through the instrumentality of establishing Birth Registration centers to achieve wider coverage of registration.
