Even though, women constitute half of the world’s population, their contribution to measured economic activity, growth, and well-being is far below its potential. Besides, employment of women in economic sectors has important effect on their life, family and the country at large. These issues of women encompassing determinants and consequences of unemployment on them are not well articulated. Additionally, these problems are rampant in developing countries compared to developed countries. Accordingly, this book examines the socio-cultural and demographic determinants of employment status of women and the consequences of unemployment on them in Bahir Dar City, Ethiopia.
